Our readers write Thanks for coverage Mrs Kay Dills Editor Acton Free Press Dear Kay Just a note to say Thanks Heaps for the terrific coverage you gave our Drama Club before performance of our play Our Gal Sal The coverage was a lot more than we had ever hoped for and we feel It was a very big factor In the large turnout we had In a small town like this it a really neat to see our local newspaper supporting com unity events to the extent that you do Yours truly Willy Jong Acton Drama Club The Pretenders ORourke blasts back To The Editor I can not let Mr Geo Graham s letter in your Feb 1st edition go unchallenged In this letter he accuses me of quote she failed to comment on all of my letter I Mr Graham take It for granted that she Is a person that just wants to be heard and her desire to uphold the women lib gives me Mr Graham to know that she is nota world Improver at heart unquote Mr Graham s letter commented on several of the priests who served St Josephs for many years I too commented on those who made contributions and hold good memories for me I referred also to the many happy marriages the modesty and decency that still prevail The only reference I made re Women s Lib was to the effect that the days when women were just their husbands chattels and totally subservient to them is long gone and of that I heartily approve I also added that a man and wife should be equal in all ways with neither having a dominant role but totally supportive of each other Now what heaven name is wrong with that Apparently Mr Graham has an erroneous view of my character I find this most disturbing inasmuch as I had con him a family friend For the record Mr Graham I do not approve of abortion homosexuality extra marital affairs pornography neglect of family or any of the evils th t are so prevalent In the modem day society anymore than any decent self respecting person does But I do believe in equality of the sexes and also in your own words just a person that wonts to be heard is It not my right and privilege as It Is yours to voice that opinion You have no right to tell the world I am not a world improver at heart How do you know Perhaps my contribution to the world is of as much value as yours Kindly remember there is only one Judge who sees into every heart and be a little more cautious in future snap judgments Thank God I am blessed with a partner who shares my views on human equality Why Mr Graham 1 bet you refer to your wife as the missus but I t state that as a fact as the statements you found it necessary to make about me May I suggest Mr Graham that you re read my previous letter 1 took the trouble of reading yours three times until I could control my indignation before answering Look into your own heart before picking up the next stone Thank you editor for the space in your paper Sheila 0 Look forward to recovery Mrs Kay Dills Editor Acton Free Press Dear Mrs Dills On January 29 last we addressed a letter to you expressing our
