Fair boards at convention Acton fair board members attended the 76th annual con vention of the Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies last Wednesday and Thursday President Brent Marshall and wife Janet first vice- president Brian Evans and wife Diane past president Ken Murray and wife Doll Miss Acton Fall Pair Susan Thlbodeau and chaperonc Mrs Maggie Hall all stayed at the Royal York Hotel for the occasion The husbands personally paid for the wives food and lodging while the fair board footed the bill for the executive Past president Murray and wife Marilyn attended only on well represented and held discussions with experts on home economics crafts Judges Junior work and public relations and ad vertising The fall fair queens were kept busy all day with making new having suppled to a neighboring ski club A price for catering a wedding in July will be submitted Mrs C Armstrong brought a quilt to the meeting for a member who was unable lo be present to be quilted Summary Day held recently following the Needlepoint course There were displays of excellent work Twenty six ladies had registered for Hie under Dublin W I leadership and all enjoyed it very much Members are asked to bring their work to ihe next meeting her home Mrs H Dodds as curator explained the work of her committee and asked for co operation of members in clipping items of interest for the Tweedsmuir History Book She also mentioned about the House Logs and Family Trees and hoped would complete these ilemh A competition for House Logs Pointings and Afghans will beheld at District Annual on May 15 by Boston Pros bytcrian Church Mrs Brittain spoke on her work at Ihe Museum which was of great interest to the women The Museum is kept in a Tine condition and the ladies enjoyed
