largest youth organization in the world However the Scouting movement can claim all these things and even more Every youngster who has ever belonged to one of the many facets of Ihe movement has Powell Both celebrated their birthdays February and even though both have died their contribution to world will hopefully live on forever through people like the Acton members Acton is celebrating its year with Scouts and Guides Over the years Brownies and Cubs have been introduced and more recently the Beavers and Ven turers The town should be proud of their youngsters and leaders Not many days go by when the members of the Scouting movement are not noticed throughout the town They have braved the bitter cold In the Santa Claus parades dned out after a display at the fall fair was rained out They sell cookies and apples to raise funds for themselves and show up at almost all public functions Their uniforms arc a symbol of and world wide unity Acton boys and girls should be proud of their special clothing and not ridiculed in any way Members wore these same uniforms to school today Wednesday in a symbolic gesture of celebrating the founders Unfortunately this is the first Scout and Guide Week without Lady Baden Powell as she died last year However she and her husband will never be forgotten for what they have contributed to society Their name will live on forever as generation
