Think before acting it can save lives When a child gets hurt by a vehicle or killed by a train people throughout town are upset and demand that proper equipment be constructed to stop future incidents What happens when children purposely put themselves into a position of danger A report came into the Free Press from a concerned citizen who while stopped for a train on Mill Street saw a child trying to place a rock on the track the train was running on Even as the train drew nearer and the whistle was heard the boy refused to move With just enough time to escape the wheels of the train the boy fled from the track leaving the rock to derail the train or fly up and damage a nearby car or its oc cupants This time no damage was done to the train the child or any nearby cars However the foolishness of this child could not only have killed himself but maybe innocent bystanders or train passengers Maybe if this child and others would think through all the consequences before doing foolish things such as this we could avoid many of the tragic deaths which occur each year for activities The youngsters divided their time between playing various games such as hideandgoseek and egg
