Spring Garden Tea sponsored by the Explorers Group of the church on Tuesday May was read Roll can was answered by the loveliest thing I have seen lately Many of the answers were about the pretty flowers shooting up and the birds appearing both harbingers of spring which all hope is not far away May is a busy month with the group with four banquets being catered to Plans were made for these as well as the final plans for the large wedding on April A supply of cups and saucers that had been pur chased was on display The worship service was conducted by the committee or the month Mrs and Mrs J Berry reading the Scripture and offering prayer respectively A contest was won by Mrs CM Davidson Have a Nice Day Pops and Sweet Dreams were two readings given by Mrs Beslcy that were enjoyed by the ladles A fine lunch of cake and ice cream waB served and Mrs W J expressed thanks to Mrs and Mrs Berry for a good pro gram and lunch Scout and guide mother s association president Bar bara Murchlson welcomed all mothers to the annual spring pot luck dinner The scout hall was gaily decorated with spring flowers and the buffet table looked most inviting After supper all mothers introduced themselves and a brief explanation regarding the policies of the Association was given It there has been a misunderstanding as to what mothers are Involved in our meetings If you have a son or daughter in Beavers Cubs Scouts Venturers Brownies or Guides or ore an interested party in com affairs please feel welcomed to attend the meet They meet in the scout hall every Tuesday at IS The next meeting is May Members will be having a euchre night and penny sale at the scout hall Friday evening June All are welcome Any donations for the penny sale would be appreciated They may be brought to Scots regiment They will play with the band while they arc here and live with fellow band amen and their families Some Lome Scots were guests of the Royal Fusiliers In England last summer during the Queens Jubilee It will be the first trip to Canada for the British bandsmen Flower demonstration enjoyed by Mrs Emily Price We hope the beautiful weather Last week brought a lot of people out to enjoy the sunshine and warm air and that any illnesses that have plagued so many have passed We hope that every one will be able to be up and around to take advantage of the spring and the good weather that is bound to come eventually Spring flowers arc up and in full bloom In the gardens and Just them makes one feel so much better Some of the wild flowers are in bud and even some In bloom in the bushes They look so nice and spring like We had a good turn out of members and visitors and we were very happy to see them at our April meeting at the Z Bennett school We had as our guest Mrs Kjars- of the Royal Botanical Gardens The arrangements and decorations she made from dried flowers and road side plants and ferns even dried corn husks were fan and beautiful The decorations which can be made even from are amazing and her visit was enjoyed by all present wfollowlng the meeting a delicious lunch was served by the social committee and a gift of appreciation was pre sented to our guest An invitation has been received from the Happy Hand Caps to attend their fourth anniversary party at the ItalianCanadian club on Ferguson St on May It is hoped some of us will be able to attend and help them enjoy the evening Handicapped Bowling will be held on Sunday May at 1 pm at the Lucky Strike Bowling Lanes in Creek Hopefully a number of us be ableio attend as it is an enjoyable way to spend moral support tor the new on afternoon and to sit and executive and to show our participate with other folk appreciation to those who like us Itisworththetripjust have been in office for the to see the pleasure in every past year one eyes being able to do something that well that other people take for granted Those of us who are going will be leaving right after pool on that Sunday We still need help in the ladies dressing room at the pool on Sunday mornings We would appreciate anyone who can spare on hour and a half of time to help someone who needs it They would receive a warm welcome and
