descended so we all went into the Youth hall for some games and songs The girls learned a new song called The Gallant Ship After some announcement from Brown Owl Van der Eyken we formed a fairy ring to soy goodnight We are all looking forward to more outdoor meetings On Saturday April from until 81 Guides and Brownies armed with garbage bags supplied by McDonald collected TO large of garbage from all over Acton including the Pork school grounds and the library McDonald Litter Pick up Campaign was our Com unity Good Deed and although only half of the Guides and Brownies at tended we felt It was suc cessful and lot of fun Getting together with your sister Guides for any occasion is always a pleasure and proves work con be fun too Each girl who participated received two McDonald s certificates for hambruger and a soft drink each Lunch was served at 1 at the Scout hall The girls brought the sandwiches and cookies and the Guiders supplied the drinks Following lunch Girl Guide cookies were distributed to Ihe girls for delivery this week Ac ton District Is proud to announce that 165 girls sold 3 boxes or dozen boxes of cookies Thank you com and friends for supporting our annual cookie in environ mental studies Now three pitch baseball is starting It Is run by Mrs Shcehan and Mr Coe Scooter ball is now over and for the girls scooter ball champions are the Islanders The boys winning team are the Congratulations Swimming Is now starting again Our school has started the Health Hustle and every one Is getting In shape It is very successful Saturday June 3 the relay races will be held Nelsor Stadium in Burlington The actual track and field meet will be on Monday June also at the Stadium Confirmation on Wed nesday April went off very successfully We would like to thank Bishop Reding Father Smye and all other countless people for the hard work they put into making our confirmation a success The grade three and four class has started their swimming program Other classes in a short lime will be start theirs also Steve Saxon has done it again He has just won another public speaking con test in Kitchener Com petition was against nine other speakers In the district In two weeks he will be going to Toronto for the Ontario finals We wish Steve all the best in this final challenge Today Mrs Mashlnter and Mr Turner took some of the stadents involved in the operetta to the Centre We went to see the IMS Pinafore On behalf of the students we would like to thank Mr Msshinter and Mr Turner for taking us to this performance It was greatly enjoyed by all and a real learning
