The travellers drove on to Texas and saw the sights of Houston and Galveston and took in a Western Rodeo in San Antonio Crossing through El Paso they reached Arizona They visited the Grand Canyon but found that clouds of fog completely obscured the view of this famous natural wonder After proving their luck at the nickel slot machines of Los Vegas they travelled through the mountains of Southern Calif to the coast then drove up the Pacific Coast from San Diego to Los Angeles From there they flew to Hawaii where they spent two weeks that proved the highlight of the whole trip They visited two islands and found the beaches the scenery and the hospitality to be everything they had ever heard it was Returning to the mainland the two girls motored north through California Oregon and Washington
