Acton on Friday Funeral service was Monday afternoon at the Shoemaker funeral home conducted by the Rev A followed by cremation Mr is survived by his wife Ruth son George Arthur of Pickering and daughter Mrs Barry Stewart of Concord California sister Mrs Rene McDermitt of Hamilton eight grandchildren and one great grandchild Mr had a long career in the bowling busi and was to have been especially honored in November One proprietor each year is honored at the Builders of the Industry dinner of the Bowling Proprietors Association of Ontario This year Ken Hulford was to have been the person singled out for his achievements He was one of the founders of the Bowling Proprietors Association which is marking its anniversary this year He was a director over years a past pres ident past chairman of the board and presently was membership services chairman He was a member of the Canadian Bowling Proprietors Association and the Youth Bowling Council He was also a member of the Master Bowlers Association qualified to teach youth bowling Rose of Georgetown president of the Ontario association said that Ken was well loved and respected In the Association He was the sergeant at arms at their convention and will be missed In Juno at his usual post welcoming everybody He was born in England coming to Canada as a child The were married in at Hamilton The moved to Acton in May of 1954 when he bought the business here He had managed bowling lanes at Hamilton previously They lived on Frederick St and then Lake view sub division before moving to the country He was a former member of the Rotary Club His business kept him busy and his heart and soul were in bowling as a friend commented He took special pleasure In the he had four gener ations of bowlers In the leagues He was
