to camp by their Brown Owl Marnie The Credit Valley District Camp was held at Camp near Clifford Luckily they had wonderful weather Tor the occasion We are very pleased to find ourselves with two new leaders for next year Mrs Pat a new member of our community will be Brown Owl in place of Wilsie will be taking over for Carol Visschedyk as Guide Captain The Brownies I m sure will miss Marnie and we are all very sad to see Carol go She Is moving his summer A delicious roast beef dinner was enjoyed by all at the first Limehouse Brownie and Guide Mother and Daughter Banquet on Tues June The dinner was pre pared and served by the Women Instl lute District Commissioner Norma Wilson was our guest Rec folder Extra copies of the recreation Department folder listing summer programs are available Try the town office or the Free Press office at the dinner After the meal Catherine Cutler and were enrolled into Guides in a candlelight ceremony Seven Brownies received their Golden Hands and their wings is they flew up to Guides The girls are Little Judy Thomson Kelly Lawrence Sherry Willsie Campbell Kendall Bachelor and Margaret Olah Congratulations to all of you Several year pins and badges were also given out received her first year pin Third year pins went lo Moniquc Campbell Lorie Little Sherry and Kelly Lawrence Coralee Denny received her Golden Ladder Heather Brown Wanita Phillips and Sabrma got the craft badge The space and writers badges were earned by Margaret Olah Heather Brown Wanlta Phillips and Kelly Lawrence The Brownies then enter lained audience of Mothers by doing a skit and playing a hilarious trick on some of them Following this the Guides put on a very well done gong show To finish off the year we plan to have the last meeting at Willsie and we hope to sec all their father and son banquet In Limehouse Memorial Hall last month Sixty people attended includ ing special guests Mrs Mary Booth president of the Women Murray Harrison Commissioner Steve Thompson assistant district commissioner for Cubs and Gord Douglas assistant District Commissioner for Scouts The meal was a pot luck supper and was served by the mothers One of our fathers Rev Richard told the boys one of his neat stories and Elaine and Frank Hannah showed slides of the I Cubs and Scouts taken over the past three years The first aid day planned by the fifth Georgetown Hovers was cancelled because of rain but we hope it will be held in the fall This was for alt Cubs in the District Craig Armstrong Tim and Clifford attended the Cub Camp held for all Cubs in ihe District who will be going to Scouts in the fall Tht weather was dreadfully hoi but the boys enjoyed a swim a display of model airplanes and on ob stacle course up by ihe Norval Scouts camp was held just wesl of Craig Armstrong has earned all five stars and will be presented with a at the District awards night Wednesday June Ken Field Lee Foster and Greg Lane have earned the black star Tim Mike Hannah Craig
