10 The Acton Press Wednesday Juno 28 Golden anniversary for Bill Agnes Braida Auxiliary enjoys slides of Jamaica The name Is not common a name in Italy but by sheer coincidence BUI met and married Agnes Bralda Both had the same last name and both lived in the same small village near Torino but were not related That was years ago Mr Bralda first came to Canada when he was 16 In 1912 He went directly to where he worked in a tannery at a starting pay of cents an hour He was making 17 cents a hour when he left during World War 1 At this time he went to and worked at a munitions plant After five years here Mr moved to Detroit and worked for Dutch Bros car factory Fifteen years after he came to Canada Mr Braida de cided It was time to head home to Italy to get married Within one year of returning he married Agnes Braida on June 23 1028 and returned to Canada Upon their return they settled in Acton and have lived In the same house since at 173 Main St Neither has been back to Italy
