parade and change of command ceremonies at Century Gardens field Brampton Sunday afternoon Beautiful sunny weather spotlighted the regiment and Its two bandsbrass and pipes resplendent in kilts and sporrans and theotheraccoulrements of ceremonial dress as command of the Regiment passed from Col E Chlng CDtoLt Col LC Major General Ret B J CMM CSU ED CD Secretary General of the Interallied Confederation of Reserve Officers was the inspecting officer He asked Col JR Barber ED CB Hon Col of the Regiment and a former commander to take he reviewing stand with him as well as Col CD commander of the Hamilton Militia The regiment marched past the reviewing stand headed by the two bands and were followed by army and sea cadets from Georgetown Brampton and tree tsvllle Special guests for the occasion witnessed by several hundred people were four members of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers from England headed by Major BlytheBrook who also took part in the inspection and other ceremonies They are an allied regiment Four members of the regiment Including three from North Halton were awarded the Canadian Decoration for 12 years of outstanding service and good conduct Major General made the presentation to Sgt Major Bill of Georgetown Sgt Norm Hamilton of Georgetown Warrant Ofricer Ken Allen of Acton a member of the Lome Scots brassband Sgt Smiley of Oakville Brief addresses were given by retiring CO Lt Col Ching who expressed his sadness at being moved to headquarters after years with the regiment and the new commanding officer Col of Burlington who said he hoped to keep the Caribbean Hearing Aid Program coordinated by the Ontario Ministry of Education During Donald Hood glst and Mrs Hood a Speech Therapist visited St Vincent in the West Indies where they did follow up work on children pre viously fitted with hearing aids conducted tests and fitted aids for other deaf children At this time children have been fitted with hearing aids donated to this program by Canadians from coast lo coast And like all successful on going and voluntary pro grams we are again In need of discarded hearing aids Anyone with a hearing aid in any lion is invited to support this
