including whole families young and old came out to honor Canada on Its tilth birthday Those taking part in the parade met at the community centre around 1 1 am There seemed to be dozens of bicycles with those in charge from the tiny tots to the teen age group All were decorated mostly in red while and blue colors with a Canadian flag securely fastened on each waving in the breeze The parade started the short distance from the hall to Burnetts field about 11 I ending the way in the parade were several girls from the Georgetown Girls Pipe Band hollowing them was the open lop Oldsmobile car nicely decorated with garden flowers arranged and placed on the back and front of the car by Bob A liree placard bearing the crest was placed at the back of he car also Hiding in the car was Erin Township councillor Jo Schneider Then came the children riding their bikes There a couple of floats As no parade is complete without a clown I O Connor dressed for the occasion walked along beside thebicycks one a push up the grades to keep things on he move By twelve clock at Burnetts the opening ceremonies bcan Ivan Bird member of hall board welcomed all to the festivities and called on It meant many hours of work It was well as each member was designated to do a particular job and to be sure they would feel that their efforts were ap preciated when they saw so many local residents
