has recently started her third summer with the department in town After one year as a play ground leader and one as a day camp instructor Nancy is working this summer as as camping supervisor Working along with Rick Nancy is responsible for both the day camp and weekend camping programs She helped in the organization and instructing of the day camp training program and is now working with leaders to provide even belter pro grams for day camp Earns Nancy is also kept asy with evaluations re ports and weekly staff meetings The weekend camping pro gram which will launch its first session this weekend is another of Nancy respon sibilities She will assist Rick with the planning and will attend the trips There are three weekend trips planned this summer Nancy is a student at the York University and will be reluming in September for her third year In the Physical Education course VINCE tries his hand at the bike rodeo at the Back to Acton Days celebration The contestants had to ride past and throw news papers into the basket Sounds easy They can not stray from the line 40 participate in Optimists rodeo The newly formed Optimists club of Acton held its first event over the Back to Acton Days weekend The club held a bike safety rodeo and people came from several miles to participate At least Paul Paul a year old cyclist from Toronto just happened to be passing through at Mr and Mrs fcd Parker s home The meeting opened with president Marie Murray leading the pledge Tom Parker welcomed the club to their home and then gave a type demonstration on his prize bull The demonstration dealt with what main qualities to look for in judging a Limousin class of heifers The members then proceeded to the barn where they judged a class of heifers Mane Murray started the members into their reasons and Tom Parker gave the of final placing The business part of the meeting was held in the house The July meeting and the possibilities of club jackets were discussed Marie Murray thanked Mr Mrs Parker on behalf the club The June meeting of the 4 H Horse Club was held at the Rockwood Equine Clinic Duncan briefly discussed his work which dealt mainly with finding problems
