ing Championships recently CEF has childcentered program February 1979 Dear Sir As this is the International Year of the Child would like to bring to your attention the program of the Organization Child Evangelism Fellow ship Inc This group has a headquarters staff in Toronto but uses volunteers to spread Us programs for children The entire focus of this Fellowship is the child and his personal growth in the spiritual realm Teaching is aimed at his realization of his importance to God and to God plan Out of this discovery he grows into an interested part of an active Christian community church During the winter months dedicated teachers care for the children in hour long weekly club sessions while in the summer vacation a concentrated session of five days Is held this 5Day club is taught by trained teen aged Missionaries who devote their entire holiday to the work of evangelizing the unchurched in order to build up the child and also the child local church Parents who are interested may contact me at any lime There is also a new outreach of Ihe Good News Club lately the TV program The Treehouse Club has been appearing on Sunday mornings It is seen on Channel network in donation of treats for the Princess Margaret Lodge are being so much appreciated and our thanks go out to you and to the members of the Acton Branch of the Canadian Cancer Society The Christmas cake and several of the homemade cookies were used almost immediately at our Christmas Tree lun cheon last Wednesday Over 100 attended so you can well Imagine Just how fortunate we felt to have your homemade goodies to serve The patients had a lovely time and wc thank you for our part in the luncheon Higher interest on unpaid taxes The interest on unpaid taxes could increase from one per cent per month to one and half per cent per month if the provincial government pays any heed to a resolution passed by Halton Hills general committee Monday night The members with the exception of Mayor Pete Pomeroy and Councillor Mike Armstrong backed a resolution from the town of Lincoln asking the provincial govern ment to up the interest on overdue taxes from the mandatory one per cent to one and half The letter from the Lincoln town clerk claimed many taxpayers realize it is cheaper to borrow indirectly from the municipality by tax arrears than by paying Interest rates at the bank Town treasurer Ray King said he agreed with the Lincoln resolution and pointed out it leaves the town with the option on the rate of Interest since the one and half per The candy butter tarts and fruit bread have also been served at the tea hours The jams coffee tea bags coffee mate sugar cubes and granulated sugar arc extra bonuses and I can assure you we are most grateful The ditty bags will be distributed
