B2 The A Free Press Wednesday March 21 Phantoms ousted in hockey tourney If Acton Bantam Firefighters continue to play hockey the way they did at the Community Centre on Monday night it will take more than a good hockey team to set them aside in Ontario Minor Hockey Association playoffs The Firefighters were impressive in their win over Petrol la in the second game of the best of five series They controlled the puck and looked like they were out revenge the defeat of game one a loss in The bantams have had one problem over the year and that Is staying away from the penalty box Acton uses their heads and plays hockey the way they know how they should have little trouble disposing of the larger Petrol la side One problem the Firefighters will have come is home ice Acton must win one game in let hope Its tonight and then top on neutral ground Ml ton The Centennial atom tournament is scheduled for arena this weekend forcing the Fire fighters to ploy their home game at Milton Thompson Rood arena Game time in Milton is on Friday night and the Firefighters are hoping a large crowd will see their way clear to come down and give them some moral support They are looking for Acton ever minor hockey championship Last year out major atoms walked off with a zone championship and ten years prior to that a novice team won a zone title but he only team to get farther than quarterfinals in the past 10 years is this year bantam squad Before them the farthest an Aeton team advanced in playoffs was the Bantam Firefighters They were led by players like Dave McGiiloway Scait Malcolm Wade Vickery
