Nursing Assistant She then worked day and night for a year nursing daily until leaving for Toronto shortly after three nights a week for classes It was worth it to Mrs Hart who went on to spend many worthwhile hours in the Hospital nursery emergency ward and central supply units She says proudly she never missed a day from bad weather The nursery was her favorite place looking after newborn babies an average of a year ten to 15 years ago Birth rates are down now and so arc nursery require ments Maternity obstetrics and the nursery are hap py places to work com Hart Nobody is really sick new mothers arc usually very pleased with results of their hospital stay Babies were never born neatly one a day though Sometimes there would be a rash of births and sometimes nothing at all It seemed post and preoperative patients However she was needed in the scry too much and went back to her favorite ward The last few years though she has been working In central supply taking care of cleaning instruments and pre paring them for surgery The instruments must be soaked in a special washed by machine treated chemically and then wrapped in towels before ster ilizing She liked work in central supply because It was straight days instead of shift work She found she could pace herself better in central supply although she remarked it was a busy place Mrs Hart explains her success in nursing by saying she always tieat patients as she would like to be treated herself Patients are- people and they have dignity she comments As well as her busy schedule at the hospital Mrs Hart convened pita dances for several years She also had a full home life with husband Bob and two active child now grown and lately three grand children Now thai her days are filled with leisure Mrs Hart laughs at shes busier than ever Kay Hart plans to travel a little work In her garden and pursue her cake decorating hobby years of devoting time the sick Hurt now has time foi herself Elect executive of Acton Wl The
