busy all month collecting donations and adding to the light against a killer One of the hardest working fighters in Acton is Vic Bristow campaign chairman of the Acton Branch of the Heart Fund In fact if you see Vic coming at any time of the year dig into into because this man has got be our greatest sin gle weapon against all diseases Not only is he on the go all February and has been for six years but he also been chairman of the CNIB fund raising campaign in Acton for years Any lime there s a fund drive on be it for Cancer Red Cross or what have you Vic is sure to be helping Not content with fund raising all year Vic is also treasurer for II church choir of St Albans Anglican Church he Zone Chairman for the Region with the Lions he served on the school board the committee of adjustment and the planning board This town me a lot I doing what I want to do he comments Cum make campaign It takes roughly canvassers to cover the town Vic says and he has long list of vol unteers It has to be a long list he also needs people for the CNIB campaign in September and tries not to use the same canvossers twice less they particularly volunteer I just go through the phone book he ex plains Sometimes it takes calls to get enough people Vic canvasses the businesses and industries himself feeling he well enough known by now to be welcomed He gets a good natured What do you want s time but finds the personal touch reaps more benefit than mailling letters Vic also takes care of donation boxes with little plastic roses placed in various stores and bus messes He just it easier and less complicated to take care of the details himself and ask his can vasscrs to go door Vic is full of praise for his canvassers without whom there would be no campaign He finds people most helpful he says and willing to give of their time But Vic himself may make up per campaign It means a few miles and a few gallons of gas but I feel it my responsibility as a citizen to do something for Acton
