Acton did it With ass is La net and advice from a retired sergeant Mrs has shed her own book called Riders of tilt Plain containing over episodes of RCMP history written in rhyme Not only is Ihis cltver lady on author but she has long been a horse breeder and handler anartiit years in Ihe writing The idea for her poems about the came to Mrs when she wrote about the Mounted Police evacuation from Fort Pit at the time of the Louis Kiel rebellion Her Information came from a newspaper article She sent her offering to Sergeant George Howard of the CMP who replied telling her the information was way off base A correspondence resulted and Mrs rapidly found herself steeped in history Before this she had had poem about the famous force published In the Winnipeg Free Press Five years later Mrs had over poems written all but two were about actual events in history encouragement from friends and Sergeant Howard who was also editor of the Quarterly the work of producing a book began The to re visit If she ever writes another book Mrs Lightle explains There a lots more to write about she agrees And it will be in verse However this lively has a lot of plans and a lot of living to do
