nations top killers with more than Canad dicing a year from It It strikes one out of ery four Canadians in their lifetime Arlle White chairman of the campaign and Acton Citizen of the Year the branch goal for this campaign is Last year citizens donated Mr White who has been chairman for the past six years says he Is proud of the branch as well as the people of Acton We had the highest per cap ita donation rate in the entire country With the town unselfish gen towards the can campaign we been able to feel our selves superior to other branches Both Mr White and Gloria assistant chairperson say a local schools are now educating their classes about cancer Soc iety provides the school with education kits des igned for different gr ades aimed at smoking and health awareness We hope it will pro vide an awareness of cancer to children and show them how they can do some things that ml ght prevent cancer she said The education program extends to adults too and says Mrs the Society is more than wil ling to present films and brochures to various vice groups We have a lot of excellent films available she said but we J like to be bus with adult groups We try to get across to both kids and
