way through or customers in by word of mouth He has shown his work at a few galleries in eluding a small show in Toronto recently But he added he hasnt really applied for shows He is however holding an open house this weekend Nov and for which he sent out invitations and ad vertlsed in Toronto newspapers to bring in more people It is his first ever open although he did receive notoriety last June when his kiln caught fire Davidson has replaced it with a huge propane kiln He has a small studio in the house filled with pottery ready to be fired in the kiln The front porch is the showroom and the rest of the Davidson house is filled wilh pottery by other or lis Is from all over the world Including Portugal Davidson said he has never been to Portugal although hes travelled through both Spain and Morocco In what little spare lime he has Davidson said he has gutted the house and is redecorating Thats where his stint as a carpenter comes In handy He says his most memorable experiences as a potter come from the six months he spent in Japan He did learn the language enough to get by anyway but most of it is forgotten now received very little snowfall But when it did Davidson along with two Americans who were abo working there started a snowball fight The Japanese loved it They never saw anything like it before Unfortunately they used to it either The walls were made of paper I
