at Nanson Hall Acton was con Duffs Presbyterian Rev D Sydney leaving Acton Rev Das Sydney of Acton Baptist Church will be leaving town at the end of the year to begin serving at one of the largest Baptist Churches in Canada He will be at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church January Park has a congregation of over people which will mean a substantial change for Rev Sydney whose current congre gation at Acton Baptist Church numbers less than 100 He will be one of three ministers at York Park and will be working mostly in Christian education Rev Sydney who has been In Acton since March of 1974 says this year council heard complaints about garbage dumping in the cemetery as well as poor maintenance lack of proper develop ment of the cemetery and the need for Improved landscaping Some also suggested the cemetery was contributing to the area a mosquito pro blem Monday engineer Robert Austin asked Hal ton Hills general com to place JO in the budget for planning of the cemetery He also asked for al for Grever and Ward Orchard Park New York through Creative Memorials Milton to be brought in as consultants for pianning or the cemetery Austin noted by working through Creative Monuments the town will be eligible for a grant covering 2025 per cent cemetery plan costs through the American Monument Association Austin s report stated water levels In the north swale will be i to red during the winter until spring and there till be a comprehensive review of land planning He indicated his depart ment will have to spend some money on bringing up to date a survey of the cemetery as well as con tour mapping He added there are about un sold plots left in airvlcw Cemetery Once the review of lands Is completed In the spring Austin expects the town should have a draft plan ready by late sum and a final plan set tied by late fall He said the American firm Grever and Ward uses planners engineers and landscape architects and have done a number of projects like the Fair view Cemetery plan in Ontario in recent years Councillor Roy Booth was concerned about proceeding with any cemetery study before the 1S81 budget has been set but Councillor Harry Levy noted the cemetery could still be scratched from tht budget when council reviews it In March Levy added has known since last summer that money would have to be spent in 1901 on a cemetery plan Austin said after pre
