attended Friday ward one councillors dropIn to see what progress is being made on a study of the feasibility of Hills appealing residents assessments when it felt they are too high or too low Last month Smith led a delegation of Acton and Esqueslng residents to ouncil urging Section be adopted to reform property tax assessment They were unsuccessful in persuading council to reconsider Its earlier decision to once again re ject Section However Councillor Terry called for a treasury department Investigation Into the town appealing assessments Councillor Ross Knech tel said the study Is near ly done and be brought to council early next month He said he didn know what out come of the study will be noting questions Involved easily answered Smith who lives on Rosemary noted since appearing at council he has heard from other residents who feel property tax assess ment changes are needed If council rejects appealing assessments residents are prepared to form a ratepayers group to continue fighting for reform until a system which lsn unfair Is adopted Mayor Peter said he has been doing further research Into Section and Indicated he remains unconvinced It will be any fairer
