commercial industrial lot levies Last week region staff was directed to go back and complete study of the problem of bring I in industrialcommercial lot levies in north be fore any approval of levy fees this year staff proposed 400 an acre tot levies to finance of undeveloped property Council directed staff to study the matter and ex amine the impact on the north Council also asked the province to front end the cost of water and sewer servicing of ml milcommercial property At the lime councillors and the chamber were going to pro test that lot levies would hamper efforts to business here Recently region staff asked council to pass in levies until the studt Is completed Last week the staffs newest recommendation was tabled preventing debate and a move later to lift the matter from the developed a large clientele Vicki herself started about 10 years ago In that time she found her self building up her rep utation more and more and started teaching courses She held home shows to sell her wares and take still more era A Sunday at the City Centre Flea Market would produce almost worth of business and thai was every week No one in the family immune to Vicki s thriving home business Husband Cyril found himself pouring the molds and operating the kiln daughter Nicole and sons Clifford and Cyril Jr helped clean paint and other necessary jobs explains that between her full time job secretary with the Region of Peel and her supposedly part lime job of making the ceramics for the evening shows and the Sunday flea market she run ragged She had no time for hcrseir or her family Ceramics was her life About five weeks ago Vicki got the notion in her head that she would like to have her own ceramics store There no place In town for to purchase their glazes or decs Is and she running out of room a I home She was ex Ircmely lucky to find accommodations right away beside O Meats and within three weeks of the idea birth moved In Husband Cyril quit his Job at the post office to work full time in the store and Vicki hopes to eventually build the business up to the point where she can quit her job and also work full time Canawinner Ceramics In the meantime Cyril pours all the molds for the sold In the store Other greenware can be or dered If they do not have a particular piece In stock He also does the firings Also sold are all types of glazes brushes and other ceramic accessories Even kilns are sold Vicki noted Customers with needing firing can come In and get their work processed even if the was not pur chased In their store Vicki says It takes about days to get Golden Age Club were entertained at the Legion by the Legion members and the Rot club We were wined and dined and thoroughly en joyed a delicious turkey supper Once again entertainment by the Baron Show Band from Toronto was a highlight Father Christmas paid us an early visit and we each received a present It was a great send off to the festive season Thank you Father Christmas and all your merry men of the Legion On November 10 the Golden Age Choir went to the Hyde Nursing Home in and entertained the patients They seemed to enjoy us and many Joined in on the old songs It was a rewarding day especially for some of our members who met patients whom they seen for years A former resident and member of our club Ford Knight performed the courtesies They have six alleys for bowling on
