formerly of Acton died In Nursing Home on January 11 Mr Kennedy a tired farmer was born on May 11 1835 He came to Canada in Rev offici ated at the funeral Janu ary at Shoemaker Funeral Home with interment at Cemetery Herbert Courtman Toronto Glen Johnstone Picker ing and Mac Sprowl Acton were pallbearers Mr Kennedy was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church Left to mourn are a brother Willy Kennedy and sisters Miss re I to Kennedy and Mrs Emma Wells all of Northern Ireland Obituar Frederick Kingsmill An active member of St Albans Anglican Church Frederick died at Centennial Manor on discovered McKeniie was told he could have had the disease for two or three years before it became obvious Remembering back he says he has had leg cramps for the past few years which could possibly tie in with his problem McKeniie remembers the depression he went through and the feeling of helplessness while in the hospital undergoing tests He did not fully understand what was happening to him But now that he is home he realizes there are other people in the country afflicted with this disease who went through the same emotions as he did He wants to help them understand they are not alone For this reason he Is hoping to start an Ontario chapter of the Society Through word of mouth he has discovered many people some in this area are In the same boat as he is and thinks they should ban together to help each other But McKeniie isnt letting a little problem like this get in his way of leading a productive life Together with Kay Dills he is putting out a book on the history of the United Church in Acton and sits on the Hal ton Housing Authority as well other political parties And he didnt let his illness stop him from canvassing from door to door In December with a petition to protest tax money being spent on the town hall He is also busy reading books and talking on the telephone something which he admits he does lot But he becomes stir sometimes especially in this cold weather He hasnt been outside In over a week and longs for some fresh air An upcoming trip to Florida has been or dered by the doctor medicine he finds not all that hard to take Upon his return he will be pushing for the for mation of an ALS Society to help those less fortunate than himself Teachers appointed Board of Education Thursday evening ap proved the appointments of teachers to three
