held after the Sunday morning service on January and preceded by a lunch provided by the ladies of the church Rev presided over his ninth annual meeting with the Rockwood congregation During the past the worksharing program at Beardmore tannery In addition to the extension the format has been changed which sees workers back on the job five days a week but with less hours per day Murray Stewart spokesperson for Canada Packers of which Beardmore is a division explained that as of January 17 instead of employees working full days for only three days a week they are now working the same hours a have lost many devoted members but we rejoice In having many new members become associated with our congregation The M and M fund has been oversubscribed having raised over for the world wide mission of the United Church Mr Gordon and Ben were reelected to the Session sad Mrs Elizabeth Stevens and Mr Charlie Anderson were elected as new elders Mr Alex McPhedran for many years a faithful elder of the church was elected as an Honorary Elder Other elders are Mrs Audrey McGillvray Harvey Bayne John Buchanan George Day Wilbur Patterson Wynne Dunbar and Dyer Gordon Cox and Sandy McPhedran were reelected to the Committee of Stewards Neil Darby and Jack Powell were elected as new members to this committee Other Stewards are Miss Gladys Harms Charles Brown Walter Stevens Robert Meek and Bert
