Crawford Lake Heritage Festival Sunday May 29 The Crawford Lake Heritage Festival on May rain or shine marks the Tint anniversary of the Hal ton Region Conservation find raising campaign with day of entertainment educa tioo and outdoor fun for the whole family The festival will feature live entertainers artists scientific dis plays and of course a pleasant walk on Ibe Crawford Lake boardwalk The entertainers scheduled to per form from about 11 am to late afternoon include The Jim Native Dancers a dance theatre troupe based In David Campbell a native singer and song Fr writer and Dick and who sing country and bluegrass music The stage show will be followed by a ceremony featuring wildlife artist Bob Bateman and his wife and students from schools who sold seedling trees to raise fundi for the Indian Village Bateman will also choose the winning tickets in a draw for a nature hike guided by the a framed original edition limited print or an original aery be painting of the lake by Leigh Cockburn The Heritage Festival will also in elude a number of wellknown In artisans who will demonstrate their skills during the day Jim will be in full Indian regalia and will display a birch hart canoe and other artifacts while he discusses traditional culture and Indian language Refreshments will be available during the day with proceeds going toward the fund raising campaign Admission for the day is S3 for adults with children under free Shuttle buses will run from Park Mohawk parking lot and Miltoo Mall so visitors will be able to avoid congestion at the Line entrance to Crawford Lake acquainted with Members Wagner was at General Hospital in the coronary unit for a couple of weeks In April She is back home recuperating To her and other sick members a speedy recovery and we hope to following items The first step in a five year plan to equip all schools in with com puters is to commence The plan will see II secondary schools not already equipped receive not more than micro computers with additional printers pur chased for each of the six existing labs The first phase of the elementary computer program is also to start In the first year of the programs grade to 13 wilt be taught computers By the end of the fifth year kindergarten to grade 13 will be Involved Trustee Noel Cooper has been ap pointed to the Computer Advisory Committee The goahead was received update
