University in West Virgina where be runs varsity track and cross country Helsaetlv involved in the sports scene of Halton HOIs both coaching Minor Soccer and help ing to coach Georgetown High Schools track team Tina McGrath will be spending her seventh summer with the department in her new position of leadership development supervisor Having completed her first year of Recreation Leadership at Coll ege she is confident that this summers pro gram will be most successful Heather Gage will be supervising the Bay Camp program again this summer During the school year Heather attends the Ontario Bible CoQege her pursuit of a camping de gree and la looking forward to applying knowledge to benefit summer programs Michelle Long win be taking over the posi tion of Summer Activity Centre Supervisor this summer Although this will be Mich elle first summer with the Hills Recreation Department she has five years of summer programs behind her a graduate of the Recreation Leadership Program at Mowhawk College and is look log forward to this summers list of ac tivities Maureen will be supervising the Tot Lot program and the Rural Activity Centra this summer Returning for her sixth summer Maureen has also been a coach for the Halton Jills and was bead coach for their Kindergarten program in Acton this past winter Maureen will be returning to the University of Waterloo in September for third year in the Char- to Accounting Program Susan McGowan Is returning as Dramatics Supervisor and will also super vise the Travelling Activity Centre this summer Susan is student of Drama and English studies at the university of and she has plans Tor gnat successes again this summer All summer activities supervisors are ex cited about the months ahead and all agree on the common goal of producing the best summer activities programs ever Childrens programs once again offered Plans are now underway to promote the many children programs offered by the Hills Recreation Department for this summer Popular programs are returning and several new features are offered Sum Activity Centres Lea Activltes Francab Dete Tot Lot Day Camp Leadership Development Dramatic Arts and Sports Camp are all planned to enter tain the children of Halton Hills this sum Some changes have been made to loc ations including Georgetown Tot Lot which will be st Joseph Gibbons Public School and Dramatic Arts which can be found at Georgetown District High School from July to July and at Centennial School from August to August IB New features include summerlong dis count rates and reduced Acton Community Centre re cently for the annual election of officers The vote was a close one but when the dust cleared a new state had been elected by one vote over the existing executive In all there were ballots cast with a slate of interested parents getting the nod It Is Acton Minor Hockeys policy to nominate a slate for the up and coming year and then ask for anyone Interested In run ning against them This year Ron Robinson Carol Robinson Dan McGllloway Richard and Barry Bartlett stood up and are now the new executive The two decided to run as slate against slate instead of on an individual basis meaning that Ron Robinson run solely against incumbent president Steve Yaroshak for the spot but his group ran head to head with the opposition Mr Robinson will hold down the presidents the newly elected group with Kllpatrlck as first vice- president McGllloway will sit as second vicepresident with Bartlett as treasurer and Mrs Robinson as secretary My whole executive is
