Georgetown Acton Wednesday Jan champs in Flamboro The Construction Major Atoms got off to a rather dismal start In the Atom Hockey Tournament losing their first three matches but railing for their fifth and match they managed to take the Junior Division championship On December in Acton opening match the Major Atoms were blitzed by Grimsby with the lone Acton marker coming from John McLean Later that day Acton found themsdtes pitted against Wheat lid and they were overpowered by their opponents On Tuesday December Acton still couldn muster a win as Milton managed a win over the local squad Wayne Bousfleld recorded the first Acton goal with assists from Michael and Jason Piper McLean tallied the second marker with an assist from Chris Van Dam However on December Acton managed to nip Burlington and ensured them selves a spot in the Junior Division finals Assisted by Piper and Michael Kinnon blasted the puck past the Burlington goalie for the win On December Acton met Chatham for the division final and rallied midway through the first period for the win Chatham opened the scoring at the mark of the first period to take the lead but moments later Michael Kinnon unassisted scored for Acton to tie the game Neither team could gam an advantage during the remaining of the first period and the second period remained scoreless as well Finally at SI in the third period Bous field assisted by Piper plugged the final goal of the game for the division championship Also on a bright note Bousfleld was named the Most Valuable Forward in the Junior Division and Todd was awarded
