Council for the Municipality of Halton has proposed an amendment to the Regional Official Plan Waterfront Implementation Policies The purpose of the amendment known as Revised Amendment No Is to provide more lily regarding funding and participants or the Waterfront Plan The existing financing provisions of the Plan require that 50 55 per cent of all funds for the acquisition of Waterfront properties be by the Ministry of Natural Resources through the Halton Region Conservation Authority while the remainder is contributed by the Region Recently the Region has problems securing the necessary funds from the Ministry of Natural Resources as funding for Waterfront projects of this nature have been given a low priority Revised Amendment No will provide the Waterfront Plan with greater flexibility In two key areas 1 Who can participate In the implementation of the Plan 2 Who can participate in the financing aspect of the Plan Area Municipalities the Federal Government and others then be permitted to participate with the Region Conservation Authority and Ministry of Natural Resources All interested citizens are invited to a Public Meeting which will be held during the Planning and Public Works Committee meeting for a presentation on the proposed amendment and to participate in an open forum of questions and answers on Amendment No Regional Councillors Staff and a representative from the Region Conservation will be present to reply to questions Location Committee Room No Regional Administration Building 1151 Bronte Road Oakville Ontario Date February 15 Time 930 am For further information and a copy of Revised Amendment No please contact Paul Attack Senior Planner David Regional Clerk 639 THE MUNICIPALITY OF Cut Lome Fletcher Fishing in the shadow of General Brock monument is a favorite pastime of a good number of the more avid anglers who just wont quit Results hove been very good in the Niagara Gorge in the past two weeks This the place to land that one Tor the wall fish are the rule not the exception If one is looking for an award then a tew days spent on the sandbanks will probably put you in the lop ten so to speak Fish are taking well on little roe bags colored chartreuse They re also going for yarn flies Lures produce poorly on this stretch of river at this time of the year probably due to very cold tern pern lures Be prepared for big water and heavy fishing conditions with a very long handled net available shore conditions are usually very slippery and dangerous This Is no place for children without lots of supervision Owen Sound harbor has kept up its reputation as a decidedly dangerous place to sit In an ice hut and enjoy the sport After attaining about five Inches or ice plus a raft of ice huts on January Saturday past most of the ice left for the north with at least 12 Ice huts written off That was pot good enough for some hut operators who probably had advance registrations Moving their huts back on what little ice remained Itiey saw la more huts disappear Just two days later Better have your insurance paid up to fish there Incidentally the fishing was good if you had Ihe nerve or lock thereof The
