Arts and Crafts will cooperate with Sheridan Cot lege In the survey being on community arts and crafts in and Peel coun ties Mrs John Agg program vener announced that she making arrangements for June bus trip to the Albright Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo Mrs W J craft con vener gave her report on the success of the current courses In Gold and Silver Wire Jewel and In and In formed the members that the course In Advanced Glass will be given in April Mrs Agg introduced the guest speaker Miss Patricia Gray A 0 C A a recent grad uate from the Material Arts Course of the Ontario College Art Miss Gray spins dyes her fibres with natur al materia and produces suiting tweeds wall hangings and ballet costumes For two years she demonstrated craft of pinning at Black Creek Pioneer Village and last Octo ber was one of the demonstra tors at the annual exhibition of the Aits and of George town Miss Gray has shown her weaving at the Aggregation Gal in Toronto and Is currently teaching pioneer crafts In Tor onto and for the School Board In the spring and summer Miss Gray spent nineteen weeks travelling through Nor thern Europe Scandinavia and Britain to Inspect handcrafts with special emphasis on tiles Her summer ended with attendance at the Fourth Bien nial Conference of The World Crofts Council in Dublin Miss Gray used her own colour slid es to illustrate her very interes ting talk about the artists she visited and the crafts be ob served during that memorable trip Mrs Eliiabelh Carney Mrs Charles Mrs Charles Fogal and Mrs A Goodwin assisted the hostess with tea arrangements BALLINAPAD Community Hall Reception For 50th Wedding Anniversary Community Centre was the scene of a very happy occasion on Saturday afternoon and evening when a reception was held for Mr and Mrs Hen ry Hilts In honour of their wedding anniversary Their two daughters Muriel and Helena were present to receive guests and meet relatives Nieces and nephews helped In many ways W the girls serving at the tea tab les Many old friends called as well as the young folk to con gratulate the couple Mrs Warne Mr Hilts slater of Acton and Mrs Hilts brother Archie Kentner were unable to be present on account of Illness Mr and Mrs Hilts were both born and raised in the ity They lived on the Hilts fly farm most all the years of married life until a year or so ago when they re- tired and Miss Charleno Burt who is a to be of early summer The shower was arranged by Char lenes school chum and close friend Miss Lola Cunningham It was held at the home of her parents Mr and Mrs Frank Cunningham in Erin There were close to guests in eluding neighbours relatives and friends of both the bride and groom to be Pleased to report Mrs Sam Adams Is progressing favourab ly In the Georgetown hospital after surgery She expects to be return to her home this week The school holiday is over for the children and young folk Sad for youngsters who were confined to the house all week as there are a few cases measles In the village Stephen Smith is recovering and there Is an Improvement In Blake French who was quite ill with them all week Quite a number of- the ladles and other friends spent an enjoyable afternoon on Wed nesday when they were invited to the lovely new home of Mr and Mrs Don Brown The beau tlful wedding presents and sho wer gifts given to Mr and Mrs Henri Gagno Janice Brown were on display also the bridal gown and bridesmaids dresses Mrs Harry ShortlU assisted the hostess In recelv ing the guests other friends helped In serving a cup of tea Those unable to come in the afternoon called at the home in the evening The havo once more been asked to help canvass for the Cancer Society during the month of April There was a meeting in Erin on Wednesday evening of last week in which material was given out and or given to the different can regarding territory etc Several ladies from the com munity have Joined In with verwood I and ore taking the course Accessories for the Improvements For Glen Eden Ski Area An improvement program for Glen Eden Ski Area at Kelso including a new T bar ski runs additional snow making equip ment and lighting was ed by members of Halton Reg Ion Conservation Authority at Thursday meeting The Authority now has to ap proach municipalities within its watershed for their approv which is necessary before the board can apply to the On tario Municipal Board for the goahead to borrow the neces sary funds The sum needed for the Improvement program will be repaid by the Authority out of revenue collected from the ski area over a five year
