city could see the way we live the problems of finances weather and techno which we must meet and overcome and the hours to which we must submit ourselves in order to make a living they would understand why the price of bread nrilk and wheat are rising Mrs said This Is the opportunity for farmers to show city people through personal experience the pleasures and problems of farm life In The urbanrural ex change is organised in such a manner to allow urban students aged to 15 from cities plus to spend one week each on a farm in a nearby rlcultural community These young people will be expected to participate in the regular farm life The youth will help the family in any way possible as they go about the day living It s all part of the learning experience for youth which Is the main object ive The participants in this pro gram are young people who have never lived on a form nor have any other chance to visit a farm for any period of time Selection is being made through the elementary and secondary schools of the urban commun ity All participants In the prog ram the city youth the- formers and his family have been insur ed in case of accident and liab ility The involved urban youth will be briefed prior to the farm visit the type of farm be or she will bo visiting and on farm safety These highly impressionable young people will be the future consumers of agricultural
