and don beat around the bush with reports like this he charged the chairman Palmer replied he was only trying to keep the board in formed of his committee a progress PROGRESS Another trustee who sits on the same committee Hubert Ctohecy admitted It was a waste of time to file the report but he added we are making progress and hoped In three or four months the committee would have some definite recommendations The member committee first met in February and has held eight regular meetings plus meetings Two were for one to investigate moral development from kindergarten to grade and prepare curriculum the other to vest gate resource materials and films for a course on world religions as a credit course SKIP PRAYER During the half hour discussion It was noted opening exercises are not Also with a great deal of In teres we have been following the articles discussions etc relating to the problem of the town property on Princess Anne Drive To sell or not to sell that Is the problem We would now like to add our Two cents worth even though have no stake in the outcome of the Council decision other than that of interested spec tators In fact these interested spectators live on the other side of the world In a town called Sal in a country named the Republic of South Vietnam far removed from Georgetown find it Inconceivable that the Council can vote any way than No on the reposition that the land be sold or development That beaut piece of wild real estate right In the middle of town how can they even contemplate destroy If What of the future Where con future generations even get a glimpse of nature in its unspoiled state Too often in our travels around the world we have seen this very thing occur We have lived In many countries and have ex per I need this first hand the nouses go up and the developers put In a park a couple of swings a slide or two and a few Bad trees to replace those they have bulldozed Canada is a huge beautiful country with great expanses of land Just waiting to be developed Why cannot the planners think as big as their country Why must everything be squeezed together in one neat little congested area Keep what parkland you have inside your town and benefit from its beauty and Its recreation possibilities We here In Saigon would give anything to be able to wander through the Georgetown Wilder ess Area as we have done many times in the past Saigon has one area left this with barbed wire and armed guards and that is the Zoo However every time one wished to visit this park so do the other Also one must take heed of the signs Do not leave the pathways Beware of mines So come on Gorgeous George town present and the future Think big Think ecologically The goat of India has special Alaska remains a source of hydroelectric power natural gas and vast forests of timber and pulp wood THE GEORGETOWN HERALD THURSDAY JULY Page 3 Cake for Nursing School Graduates Although no Georgetown women were Included the
