find that this is really a town affair many Individuals oca co operating to ensure that win or lose our visitors will return to their homes richer for the experience of having been In Georgetown during Bantam Hockey Week Whether you are a player a parent or a hockey fan the welcome mat Is out and we trust that you will have a memorable and enjoyable stay In Georgetown Home of the Utile H The man behind the Bantam For the past nine years the driving force behind the International Bantam Hockey Tournament held in Georgetown has been the tournaments chairman Harry Levy Mr Levy had been In volved with the tour nament since its inception in lHi but at the request Of Red in 1967 the Kinsmen Club took over the organizing aspect and Mr Levy accepted the chairmans position Asked why he became so involved with the tournament Mr Levy explained that It was basically because of the organizational challenge It should be noted that very few men would be likely to take up he challenge if they knew the amount of work involved Preparations for ho tournament start six months In advance and this In effect means that Harry Levy becomes totally Involved from this point on He takes his Job as chairman very seriously and insures that every aspect of the tournament receives his personal scrutiny This runs the gamut from the mailing of invitations all the way down to make sure that the tables at which the youngsters will eat are properly covered The tournament under Mr Levys direction has been praised as the most highly ad ministrative tournament In Canada and teams that have competed here have regularly endorsed this statement Although he has never played the game of hockey apart from the odd game Mr Levys dedication to this tournament accurately expresses his love for the game and for the youngsters who compete One letter in particular Illustrates the esteem in which Mr Levy Is held because of the job he has done It comes from the Moore County Minor Association year and many past years shoulo receive a standing ovation for the fantastic personal devotion to the success of this tournament along with his cochairman and the people specifically outlined in the not meet all your com mittee members I would like to pass along a special thanks to them for their hospitality As long as we have people of the calibre of Harry Levy In minor hockey It will flourish and raise gen tleman from the ranks of our system In most organizational undertakings the Job Is completed once the en terprise gets underway This Is not a belief Harry Levy shares When the time for the staging of the tournament rolls around he takes off work and is present at the arena from the beginning of the first game until the lights go out to herald the end of the evening Each and every decision con cerning both minor and major problems which crop up during the tournament are handled by Mr Levy He feels that his responsibility demands that he be on the scene at all times to ensure a successful tournament In years past this has been the case and with ap proximately games Involving boys being run off during tour nament week decisions are constantly being made Georgetown minor
