fact Is a new sport In our area we were pleased at the turnout and all the players showed lots of enthusiasm Six Junior teams competed they being Ancaster Caledonia Georgetown Milton St David and Each team played five games and the team with the best record was the champion The result were Caledonia first St Davids second Georgetown third Ancaster fourth fifth and ltoJton sixth Congratulations to tile Georgetown Junior team consisting of Sheni Grossman Elaine Taylor Yvonne Golden John Golden Mark Taylor Mark Roger Smith Peter and Mary Lynn Morrow for their fine efforts Five senior teams competed in the meet and they were Caledonia Georgetown Grimsby Milton and St David The teams were very well matched and the spectators got to see some very close gomes We are proud to say that the Georgetown team came out on top and got to bring home the plaque or keep it here since the tournament fas on home Congratulations goes to Peter Gingras Alex Virag Blair Thompson Don Thompson Ian Long as part of our training program and we took our test recently Congratulations go to Karen Tracy Porter Lauralee Morris Theresa Callaghan Wendy Slack Debbie Iglesios Andy Long Paul MacDonald Martha and Shawn Fisher for receiving the award The N is a National Llfeguarding course that was set up by the Royal life Saving Society RLSS the Red Cross Society the Organization and la currently part of the program It involves practising the techniques of water rescue pool and waterfront emergency procedures first aid physical fitness per formance tuned lengths of beadup crawl and headup breast stroke defense mechanisms and releases and a wide area of theoretical knowledge National Lifeguard is a very worthwhile award to attain and its award holders represent Its high standard of efficiency 1 If youve been wondering why the Indoor Pool has been closed so often in post week due to Health Reasons we cant blame you at all But it Is beginning to represent quite a timely and costly problem to the public and the pool staff Some children have been using the pool as a washroom facility instead of as a place for all to enjoy a swim Whcnthlshappenswchavetocloscthepoolandadd a lot of chemicals to clean out the system We would greatly appreciate your cooperation in educating the children about the Importance of using our washrooms If It is necessary please have the young ones wear plastic pant
