placed first Flying for fun you happened to be In the area of the end of Moun tain view Road near Ash grove and happened la see a number of miniature airplanes flying around you were witnessing the Georgetown Radio Control Clubs annual Fly for Fun day Each year the club organizes such a day when members compete amongst themselves testing ihclr skills in such areas as proper landings take- offs timed races etc Out of the over members in the club IS competed through the course of the day However this Is not to say that there were 13 competitors all day for such things as mechanical breakdowns and the odd crash landing slightly narrowed down the number of radio control airplanes competing The competition was held in the form or the highest number of accumulated points from the various categories In the Novice of Georgetown came In first with Tony Grodon ac cumulating the Becond highest number of points and Drew Martin third Carl Irwin was first place winner In the Open Class with Ken second and Terry Brown third Friday and Saturday ivenlngs were well attended with Disc Jockeys supplying the music both evenings We will be hating a welcome change on Friday September 12 and Saturday September when we will have live entertainment Sept 12 will be George and Rowc on piano and drums and our en tertainer Fred on the organ on September This Saturday we will have DJ Boots playing Harry Allen has been playing records on Saturday af ternoons for our enjoyment Hope you have enjoyed him a recent dance held in Acton for one of our Legions that was burned out Branch Acton raised for Branch Guelph They had over couples in attendance and although they could have handled another couples very easily they were pleased with their effort on behalf of Legion Saturday afternoon
