working hard to build a church for the town Area residents at that time attended the Acton or Brampton churches but with the sanction of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada began holding meetings in their own homes in conjunction with their regular Sunday services at their own As more and more members Joined the Georgetown group It was necessary to rent larger quarters for the weekly meeting The former Motors show room which is now Beckers on Street served the group until Sunday meetings were scheduled at which time under the direc tion of Pastor Jack McCallum the Masonic Temple became the new home for the member Georgetown Pen Church The next step in establishing the church came when the group rented the First Baptist Church on Main Street now occupied by the Christian Missionary Alliance When the building was sold to the Alliance Pastor and his congregation began searching for a new home They purchased eight and a half acres of land in 1974 at the edge of town on highway
