Page I- THE HERALD Wednesday October 1 UTS Brelsford inducted Baptist Church officially welcomed Reverend Tom Breltf to the ministry of the church In an Induction service held Tuesday evening The vie Rev Tom congregation was Joined for the evening by several delegates and ministers from the Guelph association as well as by ministers from other Georgetown churches Mr D L Kropf moderator of the Guelph Association of Baptist Churches led the service in charging the new minister and the congregation with their mutual respon sibilities In he service of God Both minister and congregation promised to aid each other in the of the saving gospel of Jesus Christ and to work together for His glory in the church The Scripture reading Luke was given by Reverend Das Sydney of Acton Baptist Church and Georgetown Baptist Christian Fellowship sod was followed by he in troduction of the minister by Mr A chairman of the Mountainview Churchs Board of Deacons Mr Russell Lett chairman of the department of ministry for the Baptist convention gave the prayer of induction and the word of God was proclaimed In song by the singing group His Image and the Mountainview Church choir The main part of the service a sermon entitled Shore- bound Christians given by Reverend Norman J Bullock minister of Baptist Church London stressed the need for Christians to allow Jesus Christ to infiltrate their everyday lives and answer their dally problems Too often he stated we tend to think that God belongs In Church on Sunday when in stead He wants to change and in our day to day tasks Christians also need to learn In return to areas where they hive failed he said and trust God to work in that situation Following the sermon Reverend gave the dosing prayer and Benedic tion and then congregation adjourned to the lower auditorium for refreshments and greetings from various local representatives Prior to coming to Georgetown Reverend served the com munities of and while studying at Divinity College Hiving given his life to Christ shortly alter leaving high school Reverend decided to enroll in the Toronto Bible College now Ontario Bible College and to further his education later enrolled In the English and Philosophy program at Master University where he graduated with honors A sevenyear career as a high school teacher followed with the most recent position being with the Toronto District Christian High School in Woodbrldge where he was introduced to a number of Georgetown students On June IT be was ordained Reverend and his wife Joanne and their daughter Eve look forward to
