The exhibit, titled Omo: A Lost World, opens Friday, Aug. 5 at the Oakville gallery. Lorimer recently returned from Ethiopia where he visited one of the most remote places on the earth, the Omo Valley. The artist describes it as hot, barren and inhospitable, yet there are people living in it as they had done for centuries before. My mission is to travel the globe documenting isolated peo- ples of a vanishing world. Through my art I will introduce you to people and their culture still strug- gling to exist in a world that con- tinues to develop around them, Lorimer said in a released state- ment.
