The Oakville Cat Adopt-a-thons will be held at Oliver Pets & Co on Aug. 13 and 27 and at the Oakville & Milton Humane Society. "Summer is an excellent time to add a new pet to your family," said Golder. "Schedules lighten up and there is often more time to spend with your new pet, forming a bond and getting into a routine before life gets more hectic in the fall." The shelter is also home to a higher than average number of cute canines looking for their new family. There are currently 38 dogs available in the shelter, ranging from older puppies to quieter adult dogs and all shapes and sizes. While there are currently no plans for a Dog Adopt-a-thon, the Oakville & Milton Humane Society would like to invite folks looking for the 175 Dieppe Rd., St. Catharines, Ontario (beside Q.E.W.) | 1-800-680-5553 Mon.-Thurs. 9-5:30, Fri.9-8, Sat.,9:30-5 | One of the largest selections of fi ne furnishings and accessories in the Niagara Peninsula. www.furnituregallery.com R 00 19 62 22 5 VISIT OUR CLEARANCE CENTRE FOR EVEN MORE SAVINGS 31 Neilson St. (near Welland Ave.) St. Catharines, 905.685.0222 6-Piece Contemporary Bedroom Suite $3,295 Shop early for best selection - all sales final. throughout the store including bedrooms, dining rooms, upholstery, leather, accessories and much more! 70%SAVEUP TO Super Summer Sale Sofa with Chaise $899 (Chest not shown) Drexel Heritage Thomasville Decor-Rest Stanley Canadel Bernhardt Hooker 8560 Tremaine Rd., Milton 905-878-8151 Check out our website for all our summer events! www.countryheritagepark.com Pirate Festival July 30th, 31st & August 1st 10am - 5pm www.thepiratefestival.com Set sail to Dry Bluffs for a jolly good time! The shelter currently has 400 cats and kittens in its care, each one waiting for their forever family. This number includes all of the cats and kit- tens in the shelter, as well as those in foster care and at vet clinics and boarding facilities. Its been a very busy kitten season said Johanne Golder, executive director for the Oakville & Milton Humane Society. "Weve also had an increase in animals sur- rendered by the community as well as strays coming into our care," she said. To help find homes for these fabulous felines, the Oakville & Milton Humane Society will be holding a series of one-day Cat Adopt-a- thons in August. These one-day events will be held both off- site and at the shelter, with all cats and kittens available for adoption for $75 each. This price includes all up-to-date vaccines, deworming, microchipping, six weeks of pet insurance, free small bag of Hill Science Diet food and a lifetime of unconditional love. h f ll h f hHumane Society as u ouse or t e summer SUBMITTED PHOTOS TAKE ME HOME: Puck, left, and Bandit, right, are two of the many cats, kittens and dogs wait- ing at the Oakville & Milton Humane Society for a forever home.
