ning an eightweckotd Georgetown infant died early Thursday in Sick Childrens Hospital The race to save the boys life started shortly before a Wednesday at George town District Hospital when doctors there decided to tran sfer the baby Stefan Dickenson to Sick Childrens Hospital intensive care unit The new air ambulance service was not available take the child by helicopter to Sick Childrens since the service currently only opera tes from noon to midnight To get a crew together at a would have taken about an hour on hour the doctors decided they could not af ford So the ambulance crew in Georgetown was told to take the baby to Toronto despite the Toronto Transit Commission strike and mor ning rushhour traffic Wc didnt know that any thing out of the ordinary was going on said driver Phil Chapman in an interview later Wednesday It was a routine run However at the Brampton Ambulance service dispatch center manager John had his dispatcher alert the Port Credit de tachment to he
