THE HERALD Wednesday May a Two undefeated in ball hockey The Georgetown Ball Hockey Association season got into full swing last week with a full slate of games at Arena Tuesday and Thursday nights With each of the six teams now seeing three games of action only two of the clubs are undefeated and each have two wins and they tied when they faced one another There was rough action In most of the game played last week with many roughing defeat Dundas The Rebel basket ball team ployed an exhibit Ion game against High School earlier this week In the Rebel gym with the wining Both teams finished tbler seasons long ago captured their zone title In the Junior division Rebel coach Leeking used the game give some young up and coming players some experience for next tactics were use four midgets Stacy Wheeler Scan Hutt John Scott and Jeff Smith also used four iors Mark who was high scorer for the game with over points Mike Sherr- ard Rob Rivers and Rick Fisher Two seniors were also used Steve Kcslick and Bill Rivers The team used their full junior team plus one senior It was an exhibition game mainly to give players exper fence for next year as well as to keep them in shape said In the first stx minutes of the game the Rebels were down but then made a great come back to take the victory No changes in Junior B and elbowing penalties being called Delrex and fought to a draw with the game being a seesaw battle all the way BIG SHOOTER Ray Peacock Has the big shooter for in the game as be scored two goals and added an assist The other markers for went to Dave and Steve Tim Turner earned two assists for them and Bill Allison BUI nier and Paul Allison earned one each Milne Larry Peter son Doug and Hal scored the goals for Milne collected two assists and Rick Craig Johnston and Ian had one each Both teams had easy vie toriea in their other outings last week Delrex dumped the Hotel and shutout Safeco 120 Doug led the way for scoring two goals and adding an assist Other scorers were Grant Bodnar Peterson and Terry Crawford had two assists as did and Rob Peterson and Ross had one Allison led win with the hat trick and Tim peon added two Crew man and Peacock also had big games with each getting one goals and adding three Single goals went to Ron Hawkins Wayne Gibson Steve Tim Turner Paul Allison BUI helped the cause with three assists LAKERS The Lakers also had a big week winning both their out ings They defeated the Do minion Dukes and then were winners against Safeco Wayne Doell led the win with three goals with Tim MacLeod tallying two Singles went to Ian Steve Breen and Rick Lewis Humphreys had two assists for the winners as did Peter Rick and Ian set up one each Dave had two goals for the Dukes and Bill Field Gary Moore and Lome Gor don scored one each Al White Kent Kentner and Ted Salt had assists The Lakers win over Safe co saw five different shooters score markers for the win ners Herb Ron and Doell all tallied Breen Peter Tim MacLeod Ian Robert Hodskins ha as sists Mark Brill from Ken Pern and Mitch OBrien and Steve Shombert from Mike MeLellan did the Delrex Lakers McGibbon Safeco Ing for Safeco TOURNAMENT Wins this early In are vary Important nH place team aftar nights gamm wn a trip to compete a tourn ament In The tour nament will be on June I and I On June a combined allstar team of the George town and Brampton leagues will host the American cham pions The games will be played at Bramptons Cen tury Gardens The team will be selected at a tryout in the near future There will be no changes In the alignment of the OHA Central Junior meet League next year There have been several options open in regard to the alignment of the 12 team league since the meet ings last month but the association has decided to leave It as it Is At the Central League meeting two weeks the rcpr escntatives of the 12 teams were almost unanimous in wanting a change Ten of the 12 teams wanted to sec the league broken up into two divisions with Acton Bramp ton Dixie Georgetown and Streets vi lie in one and Burlington as Grimsby Hamilton Mil ton and in the other However the 12 teams from the league this past year Georgetown Acton Brampton Dixie Streets Burlington Milton Oak Ridges and will all be back competing against one another next year DISAPPOINTED Bob said he was very disappointed with the decision The six team divis ion and proposal would have meant less travel for his club and of course less expenses The main plus for the Gems in the rejected plan would have been not having Continued on Page 38
