Local cricket club gains A division SOLM Herald Special The Georgetown Cricket Club will be fielding a team In the A division of the Hamilton and District Cricket League In This decision was taken at the Annual General Meeting of the League held at the Hamilton In when delegates from the participating teams attended and voted unanimously to promote the Georgetown Since joining the league In 1979 the team improved steadily each year and much of its success has to be attributed to the support received from the George town Recreation Department for making playing fields available During the first two years the games were played at the Yoder field but this year the Recreation Department made it possible for them to be ployed on the Slewart town Senior School playing field which for cricket Is a much superior facility The standard of play of the Georgetown team and the quality of performances in batting improved dramatically at Stewart town and thii played a motor part In the League decision to promote the local team to the premier division Highlights of the 19S1 season included a splendid century scored by Ram Mungroo against Oakville and several scintillating bowling performances by Kcsho Ramnarine who topp ed the bowling averages In the Hamilton and District League and won the coveted award for the best bowler in 19S1 Other sterling displays were given by Kumar Ashley Windsor Lloyd Jones Nirvan and In preparation for the new season the members of the club elected the fallowing officers for 1982 President and Secretary Solomon M Toncoo Vice President Mrs
