ihcir debut concert before full house it the John Theatre While it could be termed debut it was their first performance in an actual concert format Hie group itself Is not unknown the area Lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Peter Allen lead guitarist Kevin bassist Ian Maslni and drummer Scott have received positive responses at the various banquets dances and schools they have played in six months that they ve been together Dunng con cert sponsored by Hills Public Libraries the group suffered from the lack of an opening act They tried lo warm up the audience and themselves with Java Blues and Skynyrd a Sweet Old Alabama A couple of Beatles songs Drive My Car and Twist and Shout and Buddy Hollys That Be the Day brought the audience to the point at which group should have been starting material day night was predomin antly Beatles music but the finest instrumental work was offered In a rendition of Led Zeppelin s Moby Dick Scott Greig performed what was unfortunately his only drum solo and the piece featured some excellent guitar work by Kevin and Ian A good deal of energy was generated by lead singer Peter Allen who although he lists Roger Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton as his influ ences jumped around the stage in a way scent of Pete Townshend His enthusiasm event u ally got the audience involved At the height of the bands performance it held its finale Chuck Berrys Johnny Good The group played one encore the Rolling Stones JumpuV Jack and left the stage with the hints it would return sometime In the future Backstage Tempest members confess they dont know what the future holds for them The four members have been together since July and Allen and Gower are just starting to write lyrics and music for the group It takes time to get to know each other
