Handicapped concerns Erola seen as an Honorable Robber elected by victims Thanks for clarifying To the editor of The Herald Re Judy wife I an skilled blue collar If I tike gun and go to my neighbor who no I whose wife does not work rob him of once a I Indeed I don want bo a Is against my morals So 1 use the law Everybody hns to obey the taw I get money without being a criminal and without guilt feelings Then at Christmas I can look him my neighbor In the eyes and say Goodwill towards Judy gets a medal for coming up with a noble humanitarian deed In reality she is on the same level a bank robber deciding which bank to hit The only difference she has a title Honorable Robber Honorable crime docs pay even with an indexed pension to boot The irony is she has been defied by her own victims even the is a victim because In the long run that kind of altruistic philosophy which Is riant In our order of social system is morally and economically self destructive to any civilized society Georgetown Consider multilingual needs To he editor of The Herald I have for several years enjoyed reading the Italian language magazines that the Georgetown library held 1 was very disappointed to learn that because the grant from the province that paid for these subscriptions was not being renewed or 1983 the library will not subscribe to them out of own funds The reason I was given for this is that I was the only person who ever read them Therefore I am appealing to everyone in Halloa Hills who would read Italian language materials If they were available In the library to let the library know Right now they are doing a survey of multilingual needs so this is a good time to speak up Thankyou Yours truly Mrs C Per Editorc Per ho il dl leggcre le Italiane come OGGI GENTE la Domcnica del used to be It is twice as far to the corner and I noticed they ve added a hill I ve given up running for the bus It leaves faster than It used to It seems they are making too and have you noticed the smaller print they now use in the newspaper There is no use asking anyone to read aloud everyone speaks In such a low voice I can hardly hear them The material in clothes is so skimpy now especially around the waist It is almost Impossible to reach my shoelaces and I cannot figure out why Even people arc changing They are so much younger than they used to be when I was their age and on the other hand people of my own age are so Iran across an old classmate At present the provision of health and social services to the elderly is being conducted by a group of consultants At a recent interagency meeting terms of reference were described and various questions concerning cost the completion of the study were answered Three surveys have been done in in the last five years clearly Identifying the needs and preferences of the elderly This information and an examination of the use of the Centennial Manor in Milton led to the conclusion that a study by qualified health and social planning consultants was assist the regional council to identify its role In meeting these needs The Manor was high on the lilt of priorities to be Investigated House Is divided into wings of dormitorystyle accommodation EWlng for males is now vacant and from to SO per cent vacant over past several years Should this wing be changed from entirely male to include females and couples Other alternatives concerning House are to be studied Should It be entirely converted to studio choleretic or apartment style accommo dation Should it be used entirely for nursing care or should another use be found for the faculty as future needs for nursing care beds will be concentrated farther south In the future Takin it to the streets Continued from page A4 Did you the play Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing KIM Hills for clarifying the town lion regarding sever Issues The following relates further to hat meeting Policies concerning the handicapped Needless costly expenditures like the Acton Post Office ramp can be avoided by d rectly consulting the intendedusers Georgetown and an Acton councillor could bo select to act as a liaison between town council and the disabled This would ensure twoway commu nlcation between both groups Professional environ mental design consult ants are available Also a Utile forethought and co operation can save and improve services Funds for the Acton arena ramp Mr appeared to express his desire to cooperate in meeting the needs of those he serves and I can appreciate that he is working within the con fines of a limited budget Council members present commit themselves financially or even give an approximate date at which this project could commence It was staled that it was In the best interest of the taxpayers in Ha Hon Hills to get funds from the
