to teachers awards When many of us In private Industry have been ashed to gel by without any increase in salary and others have had to take salary cuts and yet others have lost la It wise for local government to spend money not yet collected on the under privileged teachers Salary Increases for In creased productivity can be Justified However I am not aware that the education system Is either a better level of education or educating more than it has In the past In fact I believe the opposite to be Salary Increases given to some while others are doing their best to make ends meet on last year levels or less have a very demoralizing effect As it Is the why should I bust my gut to get some thing done or who cares prevalent In business to day elected officials are not In tune with the problems of those who elected them and contin ue to act Irresponsibly it will not be long before the standard of living In this once great country goes right on down the toilet Any teacher who acce pts this award will lose the respect of many mem bers of the community who are willing to help try to flghl Inflationary spiral Teachers should give long hard thought to the example they will be
