and Mike have been together for almost three years Mr Campbell feels strongly about the concept of Big Brothers He remembers that his own dad travelled a lot when he was a young stcr He knew Big chartered accountant decided with a number of fellow Optimists to start up a chapter Mr WagnerisstlUlhepmldentof Big Brothers in Kills The object of the Big Brother Association is to help a year old boy who lacks male identification and example to develop a way of living that Is personally and socially more fulfilling There is a lot of responsibility placed on matches between the brothers because mothers worry about their sons Mr Wagner says If the Halton Hills chapter had more resources they could double their caseload The need is very evident Mr Wagner says Most of the candidates for Big Brothers are men looking for something extra In the r life Mrs says The Little Brothers benefit from the program because their self image improves and their confidence Is restored Often a Brother might have faced some rejection from a father so initially there might be some apprehension or even distrust when a Big Brother first comes to call Mrs Quantrell says But the program Is successful kids grades have improved in school after they are matched with a Big Brother Mrs says A Big Brother benefits from the program by doing something worthwhile that can be lots of fun as well she says
