finish Midget Amy Powers took second place In the meter 1500 the races She was racing against the Ontario champion from Milton in all three events Powers set a school record as the first first year midget to run under 11 minutes in the 3000 Sandra finished second In the midget girls 100 She took second In the midget girls setting a school record of seconds Heaton placed third In the midget girls ZOO and contributed to the fourth place finish of the Junior girls x and x 100 relay teams Louis De dominated the midget boys hurdles equalling the Halton record of 14 2 seconds Nancy Mustard was second in midget girls hurdles third in the 1500 fourth In the BOO Jon Hammer won the midget boys discus and was second in shot put The Junior team also had a number of outstanding performances Barwell won the Junior girls hurdles in 12 seconds and Kim Dryden took first place in the Junior girls high Jump Lynn MacPhail completely dominated the junior girls 3000 with the tune of 10 39 said the only Intermediate A club to do so Representatives from the six existing Senior A teams stunned Interme diate club and at a meeting In London Thursday night when they turned thumbs down- on three separate proposals to amalgamate the two leagues into a new threedivision loop They accepted to join the Senior A league from Georgetown and Rockton meaning the Raiders will compete for the Allan Cup next year In an eight team league The two new entries will join Hamilton Chat ham Cambridge and Woodstock Raider president Finn who attended Thursdays meeting along with vicepresident Dave Kentner told The Herald he Is convinced the Senior teams werent prepared to accept what they consider to be lower caliber hockey teams from the Intermediate A clubs They found a fault with each of three pro posals whether it was travel distance or an unbalanced schedule or whatever Poulstrup said They knew they had two good entries In Georgetown and and they Just went through the motions to satisfy the OHA admitted that We 11 miss our tra rivalry with Coll but he was adamant that a move to Senior A best for the Raider organization The Raiders will play a game interlocking schedule next season In Chrysler Raider hierarchy this year It belongs to Doug Brlndley has been announced as one of three Raider general managers for the upcoming season their first as a Senior A entry His main area of responsibility will be recruiting players A resident of George town for almost three years now brings a wealth of hockey connections to the Raid outfit Brlndley played Tor the 1966 Memorial Cup Niagara Falls Fly era and was a Toronto Maple Leaf first round draft pick the following year After two years In Tulsa he graduated to the Leaf roster as a center playing behind such stars as Dave Keon Norm Jim Harrison and a young Dairy Ironically was the most valuable- layer at the 1963 George- awn bantam hockey tournament playing out of Walkerton The new GM was trad ed from Toronto to Van played 1972 In Rochester for Don Cherry and signed with Cleveland in the World Hockey Association In 1974 He was drafted away by Indianapolis the next year where he play with a scrawny 17 yearold named Wayne officer with the Ontario Provincial Police stationed in I ve been wanting to get back into hockey and Ive been talking to Dave vicepresident for couple of years now Brlndley said I think I have some
