twoyear program She said was easy to help the mentally retarded loo much but it benefit children if everything for them They have to learn to do things for themselves Every day from 8 30 log 12 Miriam is at Park school collecting 360 hours towards two Grade 12 credits in Ihe GDHS cooperative education program She said she enjoys onetoone nature of the work and said the children are very affectionate running lo give her a kiss and a hug when they sec her Alternating mornings and afternoons Debbie 17 also enjoys her time with the children I Just love working with them she said They re special They re taught differently and react differently Debbie laugh as she recalled how one little girl had fun taking off the other children shoes 1 thought at first I I be able to handle it with the kids Itsa lot of fun Debbie said She plans to be a teacher for the mentally retarded at a day care centre or school she aid You have to constantly repeat what you want them to do about IS times
