of municipal opposition to the NEC after accepting a mun aggregate task force report provided none of the statements contained in the report conflict with the towns proposed official plan Council raised no debate on the task force recommendations except for the it pulallon by Mayor Peter Pomeroy that consultant Peter Walker who worked on the towns official plan check the recommends Sheldon chairman of the task force worry about the report but wants Walker review done quickly how ever so thai the recom mendatlons can be sent to cabinet before the hear officers report The proposed Niagara Escarpment plan recom mendallons are to be put before Henderson on June In the report the task force old the provincial government the pa supports the pro posed NEC plan The report opposes the bearing fleers recommendations hat resource areas be identified in the plan by way of maps an Interim designation to protect mineral resource areas since official plan amendments can accomplish any changes In land use de signations when they are necessary the hearing officers recommendation which would destroy the ability of a lesser plan be more restrictive than a plan the recommendation which would change zon ing on some portions of Standard Industries Ltd Speyslde area properly and make extraction a permitted use In that area The ask force recom mendatlons support the submissions of SI public
