Institute in the Community Centre The dessert table was laden with every variety of sweets youd find In a recipe book For a centrepiece tall tapers flanked a curling stone squash chestnuts milkweed pods and fall leaves The afternoon was arranged by Jean May Amy Burke and Van Marie Murray had charge of the 12 tables of euchre Winners were first Gertrude second Gladys Chester third lone hands Jean Brooder tied with Margaret McClure Campbell Lucky draw winners were Alice Lester Muriel Nurse Shirley Kent Chris Smith Isabel McClure Elizabeth McMenemy Betty Violet Anisworth Ida Florence Maddison is very popular Excerpts from Mrs Montgomerys diaries revealing her lovo of poetry and nature were read by Pictures taken during her time in Norval and her book of recipes were on display proving of to pick up pedigrees of the cattle when the flames were coining through the ceiling The cattle have been taken to the farm of Georgetowns Walt Dixon which enables them to carry on their dairy business
